The Main Context and the NAVIGATE action

Every Script starts with the <main> context. Here we usually tell Autopilot to go somewhere on the internet.

A context is a set of instructions to perform on a page.

The <main> context, Script's entry point, usually contains a single item – the navigate action. The purpose of this set is to perform the initial navigation somewhere on the web.

Navigate action's pipeline should return the URL of a target page.

Pipes to return the URL

To define the value as a constant, use a Value.getConstant pipe;
To script with an external input in mind, specify the data in the Input panel and reference it with a Value.getInput pipe (learn more in the Inputs lesson).

To test the action, hit the "debug" Player button. A webpage should load into the browser. Once the page is loaded, Script gets access to all the elements within the page.

Note: When there are no additional contexts in the Script, completing the <main> one counts for success. However, if your Script contains at least one additional context, things get interesting. See the Context Matching and Context Flow lessons to learn more.
