Learn to automate one of the most common interactions on the web – a page click.

To click on a page, Autopilot needs to know what to hit precisely. That's the only requirement – the target element should be unique within the page.

To configure a "click" action with a single pipe, go with the DOM.queryOne. When you choose to insert a "click" action into your Script, the page interaction mode invites YOU to perform a click on a page manually. The DOM.queryOne pipe gets auto-generated. It feels like you record it. As the mouse hits the page, the Autopilot comes up with a specific enough CSS selector for you. Not happy with the outcome? Feel free to amend the selector.

Mind that there are trickier scripting cases, like the one we're looking into in the Options Menu lesson. One pipe might not be enough. The general rule is that you can chain as many pipes as you need, but the last pipe of a pipeline should produce a single element for the "click" action to work.
